Hola! Bienvenidos a nuestra vida en Costa Rica!

We are Olivia (Libby, Liv) and Alexander Holcomb, and we live in Costa Rica! We packed all our things and shoved them in our parents’ houses before taking a very relaxing plane ride to the middle of Latin America. We are working on our TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification in the hopes of attaining a job and a work visa to stay in Costa Rica for an undecided amount of time.

About Paid Subscriptions

Let’s talk about the $6 elephant in the room. We know nobody likes paying for things, especially stories from people you know personally. (Hello, friends and family.) But the truth is that we are generally private people. Our blog is for fun, but we also don’t want to put everything out there for a bunch of random people on the internet. A paywall lets us make sure that the people who subscribe genuinely want to support our creativity, our stories, and our lives.

Also, this newsletter will be for real. This isn’t one of those namby-pamby blogs (Olivia’s wording) that only publish once every few months and always start by apologizing for not posting more. We’re going to publish at least twice a week, and that isn’t nothing! Here’s our content schedule.

The Official Sloth Subscription

Costa Rica has a lot of sloths. We haven’t seen one yet, but everyone tells us so. Also, Substack takes a little cut of our earnings to use their platform. Sloths wouldn’t like that.
